Personal Statement
I am a scholar who is dedicated to the study of Ancient Languages, and the study of the Modern science of Linguistics, so that I can understand and explain ancient texts to others today in a more informed manner.
I desire to instruct learners in various elements of Ancient Languages, with the result that they appreciate the languages themselves, and become better interpreters of the texts they read in those languages. This includes grammar, translation techniques, exegesis, historical analysis, and literary analysis.
For those whose profession requires them to interpret a Greek text, I seek to enrich their efforts by providing a solid method coupled with current information from linguistic theory. This method incorporates the intricacies of Tense, Mood, Aspect, Lexis, and Aktionsart.
